Anaerobic Digester Systems information

Webinars Offered on Anaerobic Digester Systems

Landowners, farmers and community leaders with first-hand experience installing and maintaining anaerobic digester systems will be featured speakers at two educational webinars on March 14.  Information about the program is available online from Farm Foundation, NFP

The free webinars are part of the Renewable Energy Education Field Day series— educational programs to provide farmers, ranchers, landowners and community leaders with information useful in deciding whether to implement renewable energy technology in their operations. The March 14 webinars will address two critical issues in the decision-making process: financing installation and operation of a digester system, as well as the rate of return on the investment, and technology options—what they are and how they are used.

“Financing an Anaerobic Digester System,” to be presented from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. CDT, will feature dairy producers, community leaders and lenders who have been involved in financing the installation and maintenance of digester systems. Topics will include return on investment, private funding, government/private partnership funding options, cost of construction, potential revenue-generation streams, avoided environmental costs, tax incentives and cost of operation, including management and labor costs.

The afternoon webinar begins at 1:30 p.m. CDT and will examine technical aspects of anaerobic digester systems. In addition to an overview of technology options, webinar participants will hear from individuals using specific systems—why they selected the system they did and how that system performs. Dairy farmers and system developers will discuss their operational and management experiences with various digester technologies.

The full agenda and presentations are available online now,  as well as presentations from past Farm Foundation Forum sessions.
